It was great this year to again run a 24/7 prayer room from Thursday evening through to Friday evening. The front room of one of our generous members was made up as a prayer space with different stations to help us reflect on different aspects of the Easter story. People prayed through the night and it all culminated in us coming together to join in remember Jesus’ death on the cross in our Good Friday service. With reflections, songs and taking communion together we remembered the pain that comes before the joy of Sunday morning.
On Saturday the children took part in an Easter Egg hunt in Beech Park. The weather was perfect for it with the sun shining and hitting highs of 23 degrees! A great time was had by all, a special thanks for our volunteers who ran up and down and across the park with their teams!
On Sunday we gathered together to celebrate Easter Sunday with an all-age service. With the help of dramas and videos we reflected on the shock of Jesus’ death and resurrection to the disciples, his closest friends. We then talked about the “So What?” of the resurrection and looked at how Jesus coming back means that we can live changed lives.
Easter is a busy time and we’re grateful to all of those who helped with the various events to make it a great weekend for everyone!
